DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: 1 APRIL 2009

TRAINING & EVENTS
The 12th annual TRARON Clinic will be held at the former Castle AFB (MER), California on 1-2-3 May 2009. This year's event is again open to members of FAST (Formation And Safety Team) including CAF, NATA, Red Star, T-34 Assoc., and WOA. However, to participate, you MUST be a COLONEL in the CAF. Formation flight training (basic and advanced) and ground school for Initial and Lead candidates will be available.

We anticipate having enough different type aircraft in attendance (SNJ/T-6, T-28, P-51, CJ, Yak, T-34, Marchetti, and L-Birds) that provisions are being made to address their specific training requirements. Saturday night will once again feature the normal roasting of those who rightfully deserve such honors.

A Ground Marshaller Training program will also take place dealing with movement of aircraft on the ramp, safety of the aircraft and pilots, safety of the spectators, and working with aircraft crews.

REGISTRATION
Your registration form and fees need to be RECEIVED by April 1, 2009 to insure a reservation and avoid a $50 late registration fee. Space may be limited based on instructor availability. The date your paperwork is received will determine your eligibility. Refer to the registration form for clinic costs. There is no rain date and fees are nonrefundable after April 15, unless the clinic is canceled due to weather.

There are 4 Clinic Participant categories: 1) Pilot: Initial Training, Wingman Qualification, Requalification, Lead Qualification, Currency, and Practice; 2) Backseater: Non-pilot or non-flying pilot attending clinic intending to ride in the backseat of an aircraft; 3) Pre-Approved Instructor/Check Pilot: actually training other pilots in Clinic; and 4) Pre-Approved Support Staff: Marshaller, Air Boss, Unicom, Approved Drivers, Registration, Hydration, Parachute Packer, Photo/Videographer, etc.

As a reminder, the CAF is a 501(c)(3) organization. COLONEL Membership in the CAF and attendance at WCFC can save you tax $$.

PREPARATION
Curriculum for flight training will be based on the F.A.S.T. Formations and Principles ver 20.1 which can be found on the F.A.S.T. website. Also, please review the Lead and Wing requirements on the TRARON website

Come fly with us on 1-2-3 May 2009 at Castle.
